Stephenville Units Kickoff Centennial Year

By rsturmer - Posted on 24 February 2010

The Boy Scouts are now a century old, and still going strong! Stephenville Scout Units kicked off the 100 Years of Scouting with a birthday celebration on Monday, February 8, 2010. Units, along with cub packs, leaders, parents, and community members all celebrated with cake, punch and scout fellowship. As a bonus, everyone was proud to welcome and be introduced to the new Scout Executive from Abilene, Mr. David Angle.

The celebration was the first step in the many activities planned for this historic year of scouting. To quote Sir Robert Baden-Powell, "There is no teaching to compare with example." So, in the spirit of example, we will go forth in 2010 to show the world what scouting has to offer, while enriching all our own lives, and the lives of future boy scouts to follow.

Happy Birthday, Boy Scouts, and many more to come!
